Quick Paint Registration

Quick Paint Competition Rules and Registration Form:

Quick Paint 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, followed by Judging at 2:00 pm

1. Boundaries: The geographic boundaries of the Quick Paint competition are the grounds of the Omni Homestead Resort.

2. Set-Up: Artists may choose their site and set up their equipment before the competition officially begins at 11am.

3. Starting: At 11am, the artists begin to create en plein air! The artists must start with nothing pre-painted or pre-drawn and create the Quick Paint artwork only during the Quick Paint time frame. Any violators will be banned from future events.

4. Stopping: All artists must finish creating their artworks by 1:00 pm.

5. Final Pieces: Each Quick Paint painting must be framed or matted prior to the exhibit and judging, for ease of handling.

6. Exhibiting / Judging: At 1:00 pm, all artists bring their completed artworks, along with their easels, to the tent set up adjacent to the spa garden.  Event volunteers will assist artists in setting up their easels and artworks for the Quick Paint Exhibit/Judging.  Judging begins at 2:00 pm.  All artwork must remain until the Quick Paint judging ends at 2:30 pm.  Artwork and easels will remain in place through the Bath County Celebration from 5:00-7:00 pm.  Festival volunteers will be on site to assist artists and guests.  *Please note that the juried artists who won awards in the main competition on Friday evening are invited to paint, exhibit and sell in this event, but are not eligible to win a Quick Paint award.

7. Sales: Each Quick Paint artwork must have an identification tag which includes the artist’s name, title of painting, dimensions and price, and is required to be for sale.  The identification tag must be adhered to the back of the painting.  Identification tags and tape will be available at the help table.  The Warm Springs Gallery will take a 50% commission from each work that sells.  The monetary transaction for each artwork sold will be handled by event staff.  Any artist who sells his/her artwork on the side to avoid commission will be banned from future events. 5.3% Virginia State Sales Tax will be added to the price of each artwork that sells, which will be collected by the event staff.  There will be event staff on hand to accept credit cards.
